We recently celebrated the Minneapolis launch of Mom.com with a fabulous launch party, hosted by Andrew Shue and our local and New York Mom.com team.

As the Regional Marketing Manager for Mom.com here in Minneapolis I often get to meet some fabulous people.

The Stud Muffin and I escaped to New York for a few days. My mother recently passed away. I took a mini urn of her ashes with me all over the city. I wrote about it on my blog CLICK HERE to read it.

As a board member of the Minnesota Prostate Cancer Coalition I was invited to Washington D.C. to attend the Zero Summit to End Prostate Cancer with MPCC President and good friend Tamara Jett.
We met with our legislative leaders including Senator Klobuchar to discuss funding and support for Prostate Cancer.
Mom.com Save the Ta-Tas Fish Off for Breast Cancer
The first Mom.com Save the Ta-Tas Fish Off for Breast Cancer was a huge success. It was Team Stillwater versus Team Excelsior on Lake Minnetonka, all to raise money for the Save the Ta-Tas Foundation.

The fabulous Missy Germain from celebrity website Bitten and Bound came out to support the Mom.com Save the Ta-Tas Fish Off for Breast Cancer.

Minnesota Prostate Cancer Coalition
Charity Golf Tournament
Recently Jersey's Bar and Grill along with The G Group hosted their 2nd annual charity golf tournament. This year the charity was the Minnesota Prostate Cancer Coalition, of which I'm a proud board member.

Judging the Truly Unique Boys and Girls Pageant

I must admit the highlight of judging the Truly Unique Boys and Girls Pageant was when I was introduced to the audience as a Popular "Communist" instead of a Popular Columnist.

Save the Ta Tas!
October is breast cancer awareness month and Excelsior Girl's Night Out is hosting a "Light the Town Pink" night. We are teaming up with the Save The Ta Tas Walleye Fishing Team for a Fish Off to raise money for breast cancer research.
Recently I had fun out on the Save the Ta Tas boat getting ready for our upcoming event.

Volunteering at Excelsior Crazy Days
This year I volunteered during Kid's Day and had a blast, even finding a moment to play in the bouncy house myself with my friend Maria.
My video submission for the Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine Live Like a Real Twin Cities Housewife contest. I didn't win, but we had a lot of fun with this video!
Excelsior Girl's Night Out Fashion Show
with Twin Cities Live

This year's Excelsior Girl's Night Out Fashion Show was bigger and better than ever. The Fashion Show benefited Ready for Success and was hosted by Elizabeth Ries, John Hanson and Emily Engberg from Twin Cities Live.
600 seats and a long runway lined Water Street during this one hour fashion extravaganza.
In the Heart of Texas
The stud-muffin and I enjoyed a first time trip to Texas with friends and family from around the country.
Dallas was amazing. I had no idea that there was such great food in Texas!
Mount Rushmore with My Mom and Sister
My sister, mom and I took an adventurous road trip to South Dakota in June. Our main reason for going was to see Mount Rushmore and checked it off of my mom's bucket list. We saw much more and really had a good time.
Our trip became the topic of my July Outside the Box Column for the Lakeshore Weekly.

Bourbon Street Bash & PB and J Drive for ICA Food Shelf
Excelsior Girl's Night Out went a little Mardi gras during "Bourban Street Bash" night. During the month of June Girl's Night Out has been collecting jars of peanut butter and jelly to benefit the ICA Food Shelf.
Drop donations of PB and J at any Girl's Night Out participating business.
Lake Goddesses and Joan Steffend at Ooh La La

It was "Lake Goddesses Night" in Excelsior for Excelsior Girl's Night Out. HGTV host and author Joan Steffend was visiting Ooh La La on Water Street and signing copies of her book "...and she sparkled".
There is always something fun going on at Ooh La La!

Book Drive at Zelaz for Read Indeed

It was a beautiful day for a book drive. Mrs. Minnesota shared the need for books and what Read Indeed does at several Excelsior businesses.
No One Fights Alone Cancer Benefit

Attending the No One Fights Alone Cancer Benefit was an eye opening experience. The benefit was in honor of Robin Meyer who is the mother in law of my friend Mike Woesssner (pictured here).
The benefit will help to offset medical costs for families who have a loved one fighting cancer.
You can still help by going into any local TCF Bank and making a donation to the Robin Sue Meyer Benefit Fund.
Savvy Magazine Party

Savvy Magazine hosted their first anniversary party complete with a Cher impersonator and Elizabeth Reis from Twin Cities Live.
There were booths to be visited, products to try and wine tasting to be done. An evening full of fun!

Mexico was just what the doctor ordered. A week in paradise with my son and friends, enjoying the beach and making new friends, including this monkey.
Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort and Spa went above and beyond to make our vacation special. From swimming with the dolphins and snorkeling to propelling myself onto a velcro wall, each day was unique.

My husband and I just returned from a visit to one of my favorite places, Seattle.
We enjoyed visiting with old and new friends, seeing the sights, and mostly enjoying a few days away together.
Mrs. Minnesota Intl Pageant 2011

A favorite weekend of mine each year is the Mrs. Minnesota International Pageant. This year I attended the weekend pageant with my friend Cami Swanson.
Also attending was Kathy Hurd who was the second Mrs. Excelsior International. There have been five Mrs. Excelsior who have represented our community at this pageant.

Each year the Best of the Best party is a blast. It's a great way to socialize and sample foods from the hottest restaurants in the Twin Cities.
Ultimate Pajama Party with Gretchen Rossi

This year The Ultimate Pajama Party benefited local charity Dress for Success.
I'm a huge Real Housewives fan, and a highlight this year was having Gretchen Rossi from The Real Housewives of Orange County at the party, along with her boyfriend Slade. Gretchen was sharing her designer handbag line Gretchen Christine.
The PJ party was a blast with shopping, massages, dancing and more, all in our PJs. I would have to say this years party topped last years, and I can't wait to see what next year's brings.
Judging the Arctic Fever Ice Princess Contest
Arctic Fever was in the air in the Lake Minnetonka area. Mrs. Excelsior Elizabeth Hopfinspirger, Jennifer Burish from Avanti and myself were judges for the Arctic Fever Ice Princess Contest.

The Ultimate Pajama Party on Twin Cities Live
Recently I had the fun chance to help promote The Ultimate Pajama Party on Twin Cities Live. Along with Tammy Hauser (Ultimate Pajama Party Founder) and other fabulous women, we modeled PJs to give Twin Cities women ideas on what to wear to The Ultimate Pajama Party.
I'm looking forward to the Pajama Party on January 22nd. This year Gretchen Rossi of The Real Housewives of Orange County will be attending the VIP pre-party and The Ultimate Pajama Party.

Fun times and fundraising were watchwords at The Great Excelsior Food Shelf Jam. It was a successful fundraiser for the ICA Food Shelf.
We enjoyed great music, a silent auction and time with friends.

Volunteering for the ICA Food Shelf

Along with several other volunteers I bagged groceries at a local Cub Foods to raise money for our local ICA Food Shelf.

My New Love
He makes up for all of his antics with his cuteness and companionship. Needless to say I'm madly in love with my little maltese, who is the topic of my upcoming December "Outside the Box" column for the Lakeshore Weekly.
Home to Hawaii

It doesn't hurt to be from Hawaii. Trips back home are quiet enjoyable. In addition to the wonderful snorkeling, beaches and beauty of the islands I enjoyed a lot of time with my family.
My Grandma Betty Webster shared stories with us about what life was like during and after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. My sisters and I loved catching up with her and the rest of the family.
My Grandma is working on making it into the Guinness Book of World records for owning the most pairs of sunglasses. She now has a fan page on facebook. Search "Aunty Betty Webster" on facebook and you can join it.

Excelsior Apple Days

This years Excelsior Apple Days event and parade was once again the place to be. The town was hoping with excitement and overflowing with goodies. Thank you so much Mrs. Minneapolis International Molly Nicholson for leading the parade, and to Chad Babcock for his work in organizing the parade once again.
Meet Mayor Nick Ruehl Party

My husband Brad and I hosted a "Meet the Mayor" gathering to support Excelsior Mayor Nick Ruehl during his re-election campaign. For four years I've had the pleasure of volunteering along side Mayor Ruehl on a variety of projects and events in Excelsior. There is no doubt in my mind that he is still the right choice for Excelsior.
Mardi Gras in Excelsior

It was Mardi Gras was the theme for Excelsior's recent Girl's Night Out. Downtown Excelsior was filled with people getting out for the last Girl's Night Out of the season. We had a blast watching the stilt walkers and enjoying the store specials.
How to Walk in Heels Event

During a recent Excelsior Girl's Night Out, Mrs. Minnesota United States Wendi Russo came to Avanti Shoe Botique. Wendi did a little workshop on the art of walking in heels for participants at Avanti.

Exc in the City Fashion Show
Recently I had the pleasure of hosting a VIP cocktail hour for Excelsior's Annual Fashion Show. This year the show benefited Ready for Success, a non-profit group that provides women in need with professional clothes, for job interviews and office jobs.
I'm pictured with Ali Kaplan of MyTalk 107.1 Shop Girls and a representative from Ready for Success. The fashion show was sold out and the largest yet in Excelsior. Many thanks to the Excelsior Girl's Night Out Committee for putting on a successful event and once again giving back to the community.

During the month of June Excelsior Girl's Night Out was collecting art supplies for Free Arts Minnesota. Pirate Night was one of the theme nights for Girl's Night Out in June.

I've been writing in my "Outside the Box" column about going back to school to get my GED. I recently graduated and did just that.

This carnival themed event allowed us to sample the "Best of the Best" in Twin Cities restaurants according to Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine. It had everything from flame throwers to people on stilts, a great night.

Minnesota Vikings "Pigskin for Fashion" Fashion Show
Recently I modeled for Ooh La La in the "Pigskin for Fashion" Fashion Show and Brunch put on by the wives of the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Gopher's coaches wives, at the Lafayette Country Club. The event raised money for Hennepin County Newborns in Need and the Minnesota chapter of the National MS society.

We had a delicious Easter Brunch at Hazellwood off of County Rd 19. I recently found out they are also open for breakfast, usually my husband Brad and I go there for dinner. We can't wait to try their breakfast.

Rockin Santa Fashion Show
Excelsior's Rockin Santa Fashion Show took the Twin Cities by storm the other night. Mrs. Minnesota America Wendi Russo did an amazing job modeling for The House of Amore and Fede! Many Excelsior retailers participated such as, Ooh La La, Cynthia Rae Dress Code, Cherie, and the soon to open bridal store Grace. Dolce Stuidos were on the scene taking photographs and adding to the festivities
It was a fun evening and another great opportunity to collect food for our local ICA Food Shelf.

Ashley Dull "Giving Thanks" Art Show
I had the pleasure of working with local artist Ashley Dull on her recent art show "Giving Thanks" at Wilcock Gallery in Excelsior. A portion of all art sales are being donated to Kinship, a non-profit organization that pairs kids 5-15 years old with positive adult mentors.

Walk and Pose Boot Camp Benefits the
ICA Food Shelf
The recent Walk and Pose Boot Camp at Champion Ballroom in Chanhassen, Minnesota was sponsored by the Rockin Santa Fashion Show. Rebecca Epley of America's Next Top Model (pictured on the left) along with Wendi Russo Mrs. Minnesota America (not pictured) ran the fun boot camp, teaching participants the basics of how to pose for those holiday photos and how to walk the the confidence of a runway model, even if just wearing tennis shoes. Molly Nicholson Mrs. Minneapolis (pictured on the right) also participated.
Participants brought non-perishable food items for the ICA Food Shelf.

Cowgirl Night in Excelsior
Recently it was Cowgirl Night in Excelsior, sponsored by the Excelsior Downtown Business Group. We had a mechanical bull in town and line dancing!

I was happy to go out to The Bookcase in Wayzata to support local children's author Susie Bazil. Susie's first book "The Sick Bug" is a funny and adorable story about how a young child tries to understand just what a sick bug is. The book is beautifully illustrated by Shawn McCann (also in the photo).

I had the opportunity to volunteer at this years Pace Race with my friend and Mrs. Ham Lake Tamara Jett. The Pace Race raises awareness and donations for Prostate Cancer research and eduation. Raising awareness about this particular type of cancer is Tamara's platform as Mrs. Ham Lake.

Excelsior's Apple Days Parade
Chad Babcock is a State Farm Insurance agent in Excelsior who has volunteered his time as the parade co-ordinator. He did a great job his first year out. It was fun riding in the parade in a 1912 Ford with its owner Lowell Frost, who did a good job of not running anyone over, though we had a few close calls.
Pictured also is Bob Edmondson who was running for Shorewood City Council. Bob tried to get me to wear one of his campaign stickers on my back, but sorry Bob, I had to refuse. I also have it on good authority that Bob is quite the singer.

Ben Leibert is a fabulous pilot out of Seattle. My friends and I flew with him on a tour of Seattle that was amazing. Aside from the fact that I was naseaus and freaked out the whole time, it was exciting! My friends got me through it and I had every confidence in Ben as a pilot.

Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Hotel in Seattle was divine. We enjoyed our doll size food and fancy tea. I applaud both Ken and Mark for coming to tea!
Excelsior Girl's Night Out - Casino Royale Night
It was so much fun volunteering at Excelsior's Casino Royale Night as a blackjack dealer. Women from all over had a blast shopping, enjoying the games that were going on and just spending time with friends.

My good friends Connie and Tana Frederick had a blast during Excelsior Girl's Night Out Salsa Night event. We started out at Connie's store Ooh La La sampling some amazing salsa and moved onto salsa dancing!

Lorri Downs of Remember Me Photography is a true artist! Lorri and I did a photo shoot for my Excelsior Bay Times July column "Outside the Box with Natalie Hagemo". Her work is outstanding and I would jump at the chance to be photographed by her again.

Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
Tour and Taste Event
The Minnesota Lanscape Arboretum celebrated 50 years with a Tour and Taste event that benefited the Arboretum. Restaurants from around the Twin Cities sampled their very delectable dishes.
Throughout the gardens were not only food and wine samplings but nymphs scattered throughout. These models did an amazing job remaining still and blending in.
"Disco Night" in Excelsior
During the summer months every Thursday 5-9:00pm is Girl's Night Out in Excelsior. Recently is was "Disco Night" where we dressed up and enjoyed shopping and dancing to 70's disco music.
Here I am with Connie Frederick of Ooh La La and Gifted Baskets on Water Street. Connie Frederick carries hip handbags and the best salsa in town. Also pictured is my first trainer Deb Gisselquist who was recently voted as the number 1 personal trainer in Lake Minnetonka!

My very good friend Tamara Jett, Mrs. Ham Lake volunteers in her son's class and needed some Hawaiian entertainment for a class party.
I gladly threw on my hula gear and did some hula dancing with the class. Here I am with the kids.
Fundraising Golf Tournament
If you know me you know I am not a golfer, but for a good cause I hit the golf course with my sister in law Terri. My sister in law Terri Mestrich and I had more fun riding around in the golf cart than I think we did golfing. I may very well end up writing about the event in my "Outside the Box" column, as it was quite outside the box for me.
We left the serious golfing to my husband Brad and her husband Dick Mestrich, who tolerated our antics on the golf course. Dick headed up the event that benefited the Andover Huskies football team.

29,000 Steps at the Mall of America
I was able to participate in the 3rd Annual 29,000 Steps walk at the Mall of America. The walk benefits World Vision, which works to build fresh water wells in villages in parts of Africa.
The walk is put on by the House of Amore and Fede each year.
